Description

The 2021 Pure Drive Tour, the heaviest of the Pure Drive series, brings a new level of power and feel with advanced technological additions. This racquet is suitable for intermediate to advanced players who can handle it's weight.

This version features "High Torsional Rigidity" which is an update to it's graphite construction which results in increased energy transfer on ball strike. Players should notice this effect even more on heavier shots which should result in increased power potential. With increased power comes the potential for players to encounter more vibration. Smartly, Babolat also updated their vibration control with improved vibration filtering material, "SWX Pure Feel", which should assist with reducing vibration, especially on off-center hits without sacrificing the feel of the ball.

Babolat has kept much of what has made the previous generations popular. At 100 square inches, the head size is a typical size for the majority of players and should provide a blend of control and power while it's open string pattern will generate easier spin and power. It's weight at 11.1 ounces has the most impact of the series to provide fantastic stability and plow-through for high intensity rallies and powerful return of serves. It's head-light balance assists with all-court play enabling faster cuts at the ball for easier spin or quick corrections.

When compared to a traditional flat-beam racquet, the elliptical frame shape carried over from previous generations offers extra stability and energy transfer due to it's resistance to twisting especially on off-center hits which translates to more consistent power. This should become more apparent for players who prefer to stick at the baseline and hit heavier shots.

With Babolat's improvements to its Tour edition, players looking for the most pop and stability on aggressive full swings will want to try it. New players will welcome the dynamic experience this racquet brings with it's trademark power and spin-friendly potential.

Grip size palm measurements for tennis racquets

If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve (for a half or full size increase). The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.
